Privacy Policy

What information do I collect from you?

You will need to provide certain information so that I can fulfil your order.

You may be asked for personal information as you place your order or as you correspond with me to discuss your order.  This might be during a call, via email, through the Wix hosted website, through the Folksy hosted shop, to Paypal if paying through their service, or via a messaging service.

I will receive information such as:  details of your order, your name (and/or tag), your home address, an email address if you supplied one, possibly a phone number if you supplied one.  I will share your name and address with Royal Mail in order to post your order.  If I need to use another postal or courier service I will let you know in advance.

I will also receive any additional information you choose to give.  Please reread all messages carefully and remove any information you would prefer to keep private.  Obviously, if you choose not to share some information it may not be possible to fulfil your order.

You will be asked for financial information when making a purchase.  Please note: Folksy, Paypal and Wix process payments and refunds so I am not privy to any of your financial information.  Please read their privacy policies.

Why do I need this information and how do I use it?

Your personal information will be used for:

  • the purpose of filling your order and providing appropriate customer service (for example for providing you with updates on the progress of your order, answering your questions, solving any issues connected with your order and delivering your order to you)

  • to comply with Terms of Use on Wix, Paypal and Folksy

  • to comply with any possible legal obligation – such as records that must be kept for UK Tax purposes

  • I will not use your information for marketing or for mail shots/newsletters unless you sign up for this service specifically

Sharing your information

I will not share your information unless it is impossible to complete and deliver your order otherwise or if I am legally obliged to share information to respond legal process or to government requests.

I share your name and address with The Royal Mail so that they can deliver your order.

Keeping your information

Your information is kept only as long as is necessary to fulfil your order and to comply with legal and regulatory obligations and resolve any possible disputes.  I generally keep your information for 5 years

Your rights

  • The Right to Access: You may have the right to access and receive a copy of your personal information held by Just for Ukes (part of String Theory Crochet by Victoria Stott)

  • The Right to Erasure: You have the right to request the erasure of your personal information from my records (with the exception of information I am required to keep for legal reasons)

  • The Right to Complain: If you feel I have misused the information I have about you then you should complain through your local data protection authority.  Here is a good starting point: https://ico.org.uk/for-the-public/  You can also contact Wix, Folksy or Paypal, if appropriate, or contact me directly to express your concern.
